InnovMind
The IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Student Branch Chapter of Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) has launched the project “InnovMind” with the aim of creating a platform to showcase the talents of young, inquisitive & ingenious tech enthusiasts all around the world.
The whole project is categorized into four main events.
• One Day Introductory Webinar on IoT
• Workshop Series
• InnovMind - Panel Discussion
• InnovMind - Ideathon
One Day Introductory Webinar on IoT
The project ‘InnovMind’ marked its initiation with the commencement of the one-day webinar on 18th of September 2021. The preliminary session took place with the prime objective of creating an innovative mind set in an individual by identifying real world problems and also providing solutions to them by adapting to the latest technologies. The Guest Speaker of the event was Mr. Thilina Yapa Bandara.
This was a remarkable session which encouraged participants to make new inventions using IoT.
Moreover, the webinar was concluded as the biggest IoT virtual webinar in Sri Lanka with 2000+ live participants including 200+ International participants.

Workshop Series
The second phase of ‘InnovMind’ was a four-day workshop series that would deliver a distinct and clear insight into the broad field of IoT (Internet of Things) discussing the related Technological advancements and applications. At the moment InnovMind Four-day Workshop Series has been successfully concluded.

InnovMind - Panel Discussion
The third phase of InnovMind was the Panel Discussion was organized targeting all the participants of InnovMind Ideathon. It provided the best opportunity to find solutions to their IoT related questions and to discuss their ideas with experts in the field of IoT.

The third phase of this project is the virtual competition, “InnovMind Ideathon”, which will bestow the opportunity unto the participants to unveil their talents on innovations with the knowledge gained through the InnovMind workshop series.
This will be an open competition where individuals from all around the world are eligible to take part in it. The top 03 winners will be selected by the expert panel of judges. The winners of InnovMind Ideathon will receive cash prizes and valuable certificates. All the competitors will receive valuable certificates of participation.
Anyone can participate in this Ideathon platform as an individual or as a group (Maximum members for each group is 3).
Competitors have to select one of the following fields and identify a specific problem you can observe in that field and give an innovative solution using IoT.
• Healthcare
• Agriculture
• Transport
• Education
The task of the competition is to find a better solution to an identified problem using IoT.
Competitors should submit the project report including all the necessary details about your innovative solution. And also, competitors have to create a small video (3 - 5 min) describing your Innovation. If the competitors participate as a group, the whole video should be a combination of short video clips of each and every member.
If the competitors physically invent something, it will be a special consideration and will be specially evaluated by the Judge board. Also, they will receive a special certificate with the recommendation of the Judge panel.
Every participant of the competition will receive a certificate and the winners of the competition will receive cash prizes and valuable certificates.
